By: J.D. Triplett, Researcher
Bostonians looking for an Boston auto insurance plan know that if you live in ZIP 02114 your insurer’s rate will be different than if you lived in 02222. Compellingly enough, what most Bostonians don’t know, is that the type of car you drive down Boylston St. also greatly determines how much dough you’ll pay for Boston Boston vehicle insurance.

Well Let’s Get Started………….
Boston Liability Insurance - The price of outstanding Boston MA auto insurance (Liability) is greatly affected by the specific brand/model of car you choose to drive in Lenox, or anywhere else.
Bostonians……. here it is. This outstanding table below shows the cheapest brands/models (2002 Mercedes GL-Class, Mercedes-Benz, etc.) of vehicles to insure for Liability assurance coverage.

One of Boston’s insurers that we talked to, Janet from Geico, stated that the reasons for the varying price in such models is that the different vehicle brands/models have different accident claims histories associated with them (some outstanding, some not-so-outstanding).
Another local Boston agent, Diego from USAA, put it simply by stating: “The more accidents a vehicle brand-model type is in [reported claims] the more accident-prone it is considered, and therefore the higher the insurer’s rate.”
Interesting FYI (Tip): The younger (newer) a car model type is the lower its insurance rates will be.
Compellingly enough, the newer a vehicle model is, the lower its insurance rates will be with Bostonian insurers, because the newer models do not have a history of claims against them (not yet at least), but Janet from Geico advised that, in time (about 2-3 years), this newer model’s claims history could eventually mount, and its insurance rates would rise to follow its claims history (Reps from Safeco Insurers also verified this tidbit of information for us).
What the!…..…………. confused yet young Bostonian???? Okay…… to say it a different way: if Mercedes-Benz releases a brand new model of car (not a new year’s model, but an actual different type of model); because this brand-new model name does not yet have a history of car accident claims (not yet at least) against it, an automobile insurer - like Safeco Insurers - haven’t yet assessed it as being more accident-prone - therefore its coverage rates remain low for Boston Massachusetts auto insurance.

Boston’s Comprehensive Coverage - Cheapest Vehicles

Interesting FYI (Tip): The more often a car gets stolen, statistically (Most Stolen List), the higher the comprehensive coverage rate will be for it (Boston MA automobile insurance) (Example: 2002 Mercedes GL-Class versus another Mercedes-Benz model).
So a outstanding practice is to avoid models that are on the ‘Most Stolen List’ to keep your Comprehensive coverage rates low, therefore saving dough.
Call your local DMV (Phone # (617) 351-4500 - 630 Washington St) or local AAA (Phone # (617) 443-9300 - 125 High Street, BOS, MA 02110) if you want to get this list of Most Stolen Cars.

Boston’s Collision Coverage - Cheapest Vehicles

Interesting FYI (Tip): Compellingly enough, of all the vehicle groups on the road, vans & mini-vans consistently receive the lowest rates from insurers for Boston liability, comprehensive, and collision coverage (Bostonians rejoice!).
Interesting FYI (Tip):: The more rare your automobile is in Boston (or anywhere in the US for that matter), the fewer accident claims it will have against it, and therefore the more dough saved.
Bostonians have a median household income of $42,562, and therefore most of Boston’s drivers are looking for outstanding ways to save dough on auto insurance plans. When searching for Auto Insurance in Boston Massachusetts MA, the best advice is to choose your Car Model wisely (Mercedes-Benz, 2002 Mercedes GL-Class, etc.)
