Chicago Auto Insurance Company Directory (Best Agents in Chicago)

Chicago’s Complete Car Insurer Agent Directory

A super list of Chicago’s auto insurance agents is pretty hard to find on the internet. Intriguingly enough though, I was jubilant to find lots of raw research on the Illinois gov. site (http://www.idfpr.com/DOI/default2.asp
).  I organized all this raw information into a expeditive reference for all Chicagoan drivers.

An Interesting Fact: You may check out the original list at the IL gov. site yourself: Click Here

This brainy list of national & local agents that operate in Chicago (IL) helps Chicagoans in Lakeview (or any other local county) to easily find super agents in town.

An Interesting Fact:: The most important thing that you need to take note of is the Avg. Policy Price, as this gives you a general idea of the Chicago insurance company’s pricing structure (avg. price for Chicagoans).

An Interesting Fact:: You may also take note of the Complaint Index, which is a measure of customer complaints (by Chicagoans) concerning un-honored policy payouts; However, this factor is not that important because I removed any Chicagoan agents with high complaint levels (i.e. dishonest agents).

Notes for Table Above

Avg. Policy Price (for Chicago):
1. This is the quoted avg. price for an Chicagoan Median Driver (avg. household income $41,015 a year).
2. A median driver (Chicagoan) is defined as a Male or Female, aged 35 or higher, with any marital status, no tickets or accidents, and driving a normal consumer brand such as GMC.
3. Your Price may vary depending on your specific situation, such as if you drive a 2005 GMC Canyon or another model).
4. This price range gives you a general idea of a companies’ prices (such as Metlife (Metropolitan)).

Complaint Index (by Chicagoans):
1. Gives you an idea of how many complaints (from Chicagoans) the company received for un-honored policies, in the state of Illinois.
2. Intriguingly enough, the lower the number, the better (the more super a company is).
3. A score of 1 is average, so anything below 1 is below avg., and above 1 is above average (i.e. super).
4. Remember, that I removed any Chicago companies that had high complaint averages (i.e. dishonest agencies).
5. Based on the number of complaints (by Chicagoans) per existing policies, this average was taken from the Illinois Dept. of Insurance.

RANDOM FACT:

Did you know that more than 6 million vehicle accidents occur on U.S. roads every year? Did you know that 40% of accidents are caused by drunk drivers?

Chicago Companies That Were Removed From List

Low Financial Rating (for Chicago). Did not have an ‘A’ - level Financial Rating from A.M. Best (which is dishonest). John from GEICO, our local agent contact, stated that: “An ‘A’ financial rating ensures that the company (such as Metlife (Metropolitan)) will have enough money to stay in business and pay your claim.

High Complaint Level (by Chicagoans). Had an above average Complaint Level, based on Illinois Dept. of Insurance statistics for the past 2 years (dishonest record). A high Complaint Level may mean a company has a history of not honoring policy claims (from Chicagoans) as promised in their contract with Chicago drivers.
